The history of Andrews & Foster

The Company was founded in 1940 by M.C. Andrews, Sr. when he purchased a drilling rig and began his quest to bring water to East Texas homeowners, farmers and ranchers. As rural communities grew during the 1940s, so did Andrews Drilling Company.

In 1952, Mr. Andrews' daughter Betty married Donald D. Foster, and they became an integral part of the Andrews Drilling Company, which eventually became Andrews & Foster Drilling Company. With Mr. Andrews' guidance, Donald and Betty continued to expand the services offered by the Company, including mineral exploration for lignite/coal and uranium. Throughout the expansion, water well drilling of individual wells as well as rural community wells remained the staple of Andrews & Foster Drilling Company.

Donald D. Foster's son, Donald Andrews Foster, worked alongside his father from the early age of six. Don learned from his father how to conduct the business from both a field and office work perspective. Donald Andrews Foster joined the company full time in 1982.

Since 1982, Andrews & Foster Drilling Company has participated in projects from ground water exploration and development, mineral exploration, and in-situ gasification throughout the United States and internationally. The company has divisions in ground-water, exploration, irrigation and water well service and rehabilitation.
